but for whatever reason i didn’t feel like my words “flowed” as well as they seemed to in my mind during the first service. so i’m glad that we have two services. second service went much better. feel free to take a listen by clicking on the “audio” link at the top of the page. there’s also a cool song to the words of the prayer from Dewitt Jones.
the sermon is on the Prayer of Jabez:
“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. … Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.” -1 Chron. 4:9-10
i was glad to get a comment tonight that one person wasn’t sure if they could handle “yet another” sermon on the Prayer of Jabez. because a few years ago when the book by bruce wilkinson came out it seemed like every preacher was preaching on the passage. but she was encouraged to hear it in a fresh way.

and now for the link to another twitter article. it was written by michael hyatt, he’s the CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers. it’s fun to hear the everyday life of a CEO of a large Christian publisher. he started out stating that he was going to try twitter for 30 days as a new social networking medium. well he’s now committed to using it and has some very compelling and interesting reasons why he’s continuing to use it. personally i like reasons 2, 7, & 12.
all of you that have started using twitter after my previous recommendations, sound off in the comments to tell the rest of those still not using it to join (and follow you too). 🙂
